CheckmateLeague is a competitive chess platform with freeplay, tournaments, leagues, training, creator promotions, the Sunday Championship, and reward-based systems.
You can browse some public pages, but you need an account to play, join events, hold coins, earn rewards, use creator tickets, or use most account features.
No. CheckmateLeague is built as a skill-based chess platform. Match outcomes are based on player decisions and performance.
The platform may include freeplay, training, tournaments, leagues, play-a-friend matches, Sunday Championship events, and other competitive features.
Freeplay is the casual competitive mode where you can get matched, play standard games, improve your rank, and play without spending coins.
Training is the improvement area of the site. It may include analysis, move feedback, hints, engine-based review, and training stats designed to help you improve.
• Join an available tournament from the tournaments area
• Play tournament games during the event window
• Earn points based on your results and event rules
• Rankings are based on event scoring when the tournament closes
• Some tournaments may be paid, free, seeded, ticket-based, or promotional
The Sunday Championship is a weekly promotional chess event on CheckmateLeague. It is the updated name for the creator freeroll-style event.
It currently takes place every Sunday at approximately 7:00 PM CST.
Entry may require a valid Sunday Championship ticket, creator promotion, platform giveaway, or other eligibility method active at that time.
Players must also complete the Sunday Championship check-in process. At tournament start, registered players must be present in the Sunday Championship Lobby during the 60-second check-in period to remain eligible for the event.
Players who are not present in the Sunday Championship Lobby during the 60-second check-in period may be removed from the event before pairings begin. If removed during check-in, the player's ticket may be refunded according to the active event rules.
Depending on the event setup, Sunday Championship prizes may include rewards balances, coins, tickets, or other promotional prizes.
Yes. CheckmateLeague may update the schedule, format, prize pool, entry requirements, payout structure, or eligibility rules at any time.

No. Once a valid ticket is used for a ticket-based event, it is treated as used and cannot be reused.
Leagues are longer-running competitive groups where members earn points over a season and can qualify for season-related rewards.
Yes. Creating a league currently costs 50 coins. There is no minimum rank required to create a league.
League reward eligibility renewal is a coin-based renewal that helps keep league rewards tied to active league participation. It currently costs 25 coins and lasts 30 days.
Solo leagues may be allowed to exist and compete, but rewards still depend on the active rules for eligibility, league points, participation, payout structure, and review checks.
Seasons are currently structured around a 30-day season cycle.
A daily reward pool may be funded from platform purchases. At settlement, the top daily performers can receive rewards added to their rewards balance.
Weekly league reward pools can be funded from platform purchases. Winning leagues may split the weekly pool among eligible members.
Season rewards are tied to league standings and season prize pool rules. Winning leagues may receive a share of the season pool, and part of the pool may roll into the next season.
Not always. Eligibility can depend on league membership timing, participation, contribution, and other season rules in effect at the time.
Rewards balance is separate from coins. It is the balance used for eligible reward payouts, such as daily rewards, weekly league rewards, season rewards, Sunday Championship rewards, creator payouts, or other supported reward programs.
Coins are used for supported in-platform features such as eligible entries, tournament entry, league creation, league reward eligibility renewal, store-related uses, and other platform actions we may offer.
League creation and league eligibility renewal are currently coin-based features. Rewards balances are tracked separately for eligible rewards payouts and withdrawals.
No. Coins are not withdrawable. Coins are for platform use only.
Only eligible rewards balances may be withdrawn, subject to platform rules, review checks, and minimum amounts.
The current minimum is 10 rewards.
Supported on-chain payment flows use USDC on the Base network.
Yes. You are responsible for using the correct network, token, amount, and wallet address. Blockchain mistakes may not be reversible.
Coin purchases are generally final. The platform does not promise refunds for gameplay outcomes, unused coins, user mistakes, missed entries, or missed promotional events.
The creator program lets approved creators receive a creator code, promote CheckmateLeague, and earn eligible creator payouts when users purchase through their code.
Creator codes may connect a purchase to a creator and may also help eligible players receive promotional benefits such as Sunday Championship tickets, depending on the rules active at that time.
Yes. Creator payouts may be reviewed, adjusted, delayed, denied, or reversed before payment if abuse, fraud, self-dealing, fake traffic, duplicate accounts, or rule violations are detected.
