CheckmateLeague is a skill-based chess competition platform built around gameplay, training, tournaments, leagues, creator promotions, the Sunday Championship, and reward-based features.
Welcome to CheckmateLeague. By creating an account, accessing the platform, purchasing coins, entering competitions, joining leagues, using creator features, using training features, participating in the Sunday Championship, or using any related service, you agree to these Terms of Service.
CheckmateLeague is intended to be a skill-based chess platform. Game outcomes are based on player decisions, not random chance.
“CheckmateLeague,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the CheckmateLeague website, games, tournaments, leagues, training tools, creator-related promotions, Sunday Championship events, and related services.
The platform may include freeplay, play-a-friend matches, tournament play, league systems, training modes, cosmetic items, creator promotions, creator payouts, reward pools, Sunday Championship events, and other competitive or community features.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, purchase coins, enter coin-based features, participate in rewards features, join creator-related features, participate in the Sunday Championship, or request a rewards withdrawal.
You are responsible for ensuring that use of the platform is lawful where you live. Accessing the platform from a location where any feature is restricted is done at your own risk.
You are responsible for your account, login credentials, wallet details you submit, and all activity that occurs under your account.
You may not share accounts, sell accounts, create deceptive accounts, impersonate another person, or allow another person to compete on your behalf.
We may require email verification, age checks, security review, or other account checks before granting access to certain features.
Coins are platform balance units used for supported features on CheckmateLeague, such as eligible entries, supported competitive features, tournament entry, league creation, league reward eligibility renewal, store purchases, and other in-platform uses we may offer.
Coins are not withdrawable. Purchasing coins gives you access to in-platform use only. A coin purchase does not create a bank account, custody account, or redeemable cash balance on the platform.
We may add, remove, or change how coins are used across the platform at any time.
Creating a league currently costs 50 coins. League reward eligibility renewal currently costs 25 coins and currently lasts 30 days, unless the platform displays a different rule or we update the rule in the future.
Separate from coins, the platform may award an eligible user a rewards balance through reward pools, league placements, daily rewards, weekly league rewards, season results, Sunday Championship results, creator payouts, promotions, or other reward features.
Unless we state otherwise for a specific feature, only your rewards balance may be submitted for withdrawal. Coins themselves are not withdrawable.
Rewards withdrawals currently require a valid Base network wallet address and are paid in USDC on Base. The current minimum rewards withdrawal is 10 rewards.
We may delay, reject, reverse before submission, or review a withdrawal request if fraud, cheating, abuse, account issues, compliance issues, creator abuse, ticket abuse, or technical problems are suspected.
Coin purchases and reward-related blockchain payouts on CheckmateLeague use USDC on the Base network unless we clearly state otherwise.
You are responsible for entering the correct wallet address, using the correct network, and sending the correct token and amount when making a blockchain payment.
Blockchain transactions are generally final and irreversible once submitted. We are not responsible for funds sent to the wrong address, wrong network, wrong token, or for losses caused by your wallet provider or blockchain congestion. CheckmateLeague currently uses NOWPayments to facilitate supported cryptocurrency payment processing for coin purchases. When purchasing coins, the coin package selected at checkout determines the number of coins credited to the player's account after a successful payment. Blockchain transactions may include network fees, processor fees, exchange-rate adjustments, or other transaction-related deductions outside the control of CheckmateLeague. These deductions may affect the net amount received by CheckmateLeague. For accounting, reward pool funding, creator commissions, promotional funding, and similar platform allocations, CheckmateLeague may use the actual net amount received from a completed transaction rather than the gross amount initially sent by the user. By submitting a cryptocurrency payment, you acknowledge that blockchain transactions are final and that exchange rates, network fees, and processing fees may vary.
Platform pricing, coin packages, tournament structure, league creation costs, league renewal costs, Sunday Championship structure, creator offers, tickets, and supported fees may change at any time.
Coin purchases are generally final. We do not promise refunds for unused coins, match results, tournament entries, missed events, missed Sunday Championship check-ins, missed Sunday Championship entries, expired tickets, or user mistakes such as sending the wrong amount or token.
Some tournaments or features may have no entry fee, reduced fees, seeded prize pools, or promotional terms depending on how that event is configured.
CheckmateLeague may offer tournaments, league seasons, daily reward pools, weekly reward pools, season prize pools, Sunday Championship events, creator promotions, and similar competitive programs.
We may set event schedules, late registration windows, ticket requirements, prize structures, eligibility rules, minimum contribution rules, membership-age rules, league creation requirements, league renewal requirements, and rollover rules.
League creation and league reward eligibility renewal may require coins. Paying coins to create or renew a league does not guarantee a reward, payout, placement, or withdrawal. Rewards depend on active eligibility rules, standings, participation, available pools, fair-play review, and other platform rules in effect at the time.
Most standard tournaments pay out coins only. However, certain promotional events, Sunday Championship events, leagues, creator programs, or special competitions may award rewards balances, tickets, promotional prizes, or other platform rewards.
Rewards or placements may be adjusted, delayed, canceled, or denied if an event is affected by cheating, fraud, technical failure, insufficient participation, duplicate accounts, creator abuse, ticket abuse, or rule violations.
CheckmateLeague may offer special promotional events including the Sunday Championship.
The Sunday Championship currently runs on Sundays at approximately 7:00 PM CST.
Entry may require Sunday Championship tickets, creator promotions, special eligibility, platform giveaways, or other platform requirements determined by CheckmateLeague.
CheckmateLeague may require a player check-in process before the event begins. Registered players may be required to be present in the Sunday Championship Lobby during a designated check-in window. Players who fail to complete check-in may be removed from the event, have their entry cancelled, and may be subject to ticket refund rules active at that time.
Sunday Championship rewards may include coins, rewards balances, tickets, promotional prizes, or other platform-based prizes.
CheckmateLeague may modify schedules, rewards, formats, prize pools, payout structures, ticket requirements, or eligibility requirements at any time.
The platform may offer creator-linked promotions, including creator codes, Sunday Championship tickets, creator dashboards, creator profile tools, creator balances, or creator payout features.
Promotional tickets may expire, may be limited per purchase, may be single-use, and may only be valid for specific events such as the Sunday Championship.
Creator payouts may depend on eligible tracked purchases, active program rules, fraud review, minimum payout requirements, and other creator-program terms shown on the platform.
We may suspend, deny, adjust, or remove creator benefits if abuse, manipulation, fraudulent activity, self-dealing, fake traffic, duplicate accounts, or rule violations are detected.
Using chess engines, bots, scripts, outside move assistance, account sharing, coordinated outcomes, exploit abuse, manipulation of platform systems, or any other unfair method is prohibited.
Manipulating creator codes, Sunday Championship tickets, promotional eligibility, reward systems, withdrawals, or event standings is also prohibited.
If we believe cheating, abuse, fraud, or platform manipulation has occurred, we may suspend or terminate the account, cancel results, deny rewards, remove balances, block withdrawals, remove tickets, reverse creator benefits before payment, or permanently ban the user.
You are responsible for maintaining a stable internet connection, compatible device, and working browser or app environment.
We are not responsible for losses, missed entries, failed joins, incomplete games, or missed rewards caused by internet failure, wallet issues, browser issues, device issues, outages, delays, or third-party service interruptions.
We may decide how to resolve interrupted matches, inactive games, timing issues, stuck events, Sunday Championship issues, or technical disputes in a way we believe protects platform integrity.
Training modes, hints, engine analysis, coaching-style prompts, evaluation tools, or practice bots are provided for educational and entertainment purposes.
We do not guarantee that training feedback will always be available, complete, or error-free.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the platform at any time for violations of these Terms, suspicious activity, fraud risk, security concerns, abuse, harassment, non-payment issues, or legal reasons.
If an account is terminated for cheating, fraud, or abuse, some balances, rewards, tickets, creator benefits, or platform privileges may be forfeited to the extent allowed by law and platform policy.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CheckmateLeague is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, uninterrupted blockchain settlement, error-free operation, or unchanged event schedules.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, lost opportunities, blockchain errors, third-party wallet failures, missed Sunday Championship entries, or expired promotional tickets.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms become effective when posted, unless a different date is stated on the page.
Continuing to use the platform after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
